Masutha satisfied with voting at Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre

Nearly 11 000 prisoners have registered to vote nationally in over 243 prisons. Gauteng has the highest registration rate with 2 962.

Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre in Pretoria has 2 400 registered voters.

Justice and Correctional services Minister, Michael Masutha is visiting the prison.

He says he is satisfied that the prisoners understand the voting process.

“I came here at Kgosi Mampuru because it’s the second biggest in the country. I wanted to see what the nature of the arrangements are and I am quite happy with all the arrangements.”

“The turn out here is better than the national average, over 25% have registered.”
