Mass funeral for Mpumalanga crash victims

The 11 people who were killed in a crash a week ago on the R538 road between Hazyview and White River in Mpumalanga will be laid to rest on Saturday morning at Shabalala trust near Hazyview.

The 11 were killed when the taxi they were travelling in crashed into three cows and caught fire.

Mpumalanga’s Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Spokesperson Moeti Mmusi says seven of the deceased will be buried together while the others in their different places and one in Mozambique.

“There will be one mass funeral service, from then all the seven families will proceed to their different grave sites where they will lay their loved ones. Seven of those who passed on will be buried at Mkhuhlu and one person will be buried at Sand River Just very close by Shabalala and from there one person will be transported to Mozambique where he will be buried. Government has been assisting all the affected families ever since the tragedy occurred just few weeks ago.”
