Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba is adamant Gauteng will be run by a coalition government after the elections.
He was speaking to reporters after casting his ballot at the Sandton Fire station north of Johannesburg.
Mashaba says a coalition arrangement like the one in the City of Johannesburg will result in improved service delivery for the people of Gauteng.
“I have worked with a very hostile provincial and national government with a city with very high unemployment, very high housing backlog, infrastructure that’s crumbling. But on the other hand, I feel confident that Gauteng will come out with a coalition arrangement and when that happens you will see how this city, how this province explodes.”
