African National Congress (ANC) national chairperson, Gwede Mantashe has again urged unity in the party amid continued incidents of party members taking them to court.
Disgruntled ANC members in North West, Free State and KwaZulu-Natal have resorted to the courts to resolve internal party matters.
Mantashe was speaking at the party’s provincial manifesto launch in the Free State at the Molemela stadium at Rocklands, in Bloemfontein.
107 years ago, the @MYANC was formed in Mangaung, the Free State Province. Today, we celebrated 107 of the ANC’s existence in Mangaung. We also delivered the #PeoplesManifesto #GrowSouthAfrica

Mantashe says the party must work in unity to ensure a decisive victory in the May 8 general elections.
“We are launching the election campaign. We are not going to take chances with our election campaign and we must close ranks and win those elections decisively.”
“What you cannot do is to take away individual ambitions and egos you can deal with. That will happen all the time. Because we are a living organism but the organization must continue to do its work.”
2019 is an election year, we must be combat ready. This period is going to be characterised by heavy attacks – not only targeting #ANC, but also individual leaders at all levels. We’ve already seen that in Parliament. It is not accidental. We will see many more of those attacks pic.twitter.com/TwH3Em3kSN
