Mineral Resources Minister, Gwede Mantashe believes that it’s high time a decision be made whether or not to implement proposed titanium mining at Xolobeni wild coast sand dunes in Mbizana in the Eastern Cape.
There have been court battles for more than 18 years regarding mining in the area.
The anti-mining group believes that tourism and agriculture will change their lives.
On the other hand the pro-mining group say the fight against poverty and unemployment will be the thing of the past.
A court judgement is currently pending.
