African National Congress (ANC) National Chairperson Gwede Mantashe has refuted claims that there is a plot by some members in the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal led by former President Jacob Zuma, to unseat the current leadership of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Media reports have suggested that, Zuma who was forced to resign as President of the country by the newly-elected National Executive Committee is allegedly out to get his revenge.

Speaking on the sidelines of the party’s volunteer launch to prepare for 2019 General Elections held in Rustenburg in the North West, Mantashe says they are in constant communication with the party’s KZN structures.

“There is no such report from KZN. I do not take issues that are from structures. No structure in KZN has ever talked about unseating President Ramaphosa. It is just an emotional feeling and actually it is a function of tribal mobilisation which will be dangerous for the party.”
