African National Chairperson (ANC) National chairperson, Gwede Mantashe, has called on citizens to support and respect the work done by the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture.

He was speaking during the ANC Youth League election manifesto at the University of Pretoria’s Mamelodi campus.

Mantashe said if he is found guilty by the Commission then he too should be prosecuted.

However, he cautioned against calls to remove names from the ANC election list based on untested allegations.

“If I’m found guilty I must be actually punished – and not focused on the flies if we going to defeat state capture and corruption. We must deal with both the flies and the tigers. If I’m a tiger I will not be exonerated and only chase the flies. But allow us to be systematic in how we work, and make proper decisions rather than rushing into decisions,” says Mantashe.
