Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) Julius Malema has hit out at various groups who he says humiliated and marginalised Winnie Madikizela-Mandela over the years.

Speaking to a cheering crowd, Malema questioned why the United Democratic Front had chosen to dis-associate itself from Madikizela-Mandela in the eighties, some members of the African National Congress Women’s League (ANCWL) left the structure when there were allegations of fraud against her and why she was not allowed to speak at the funeral of the late ANC Youth League leader Peter Mokaba.

Malema also referred to the 2012 Marikana tragedy saying that they as the EFF were aware of what he called these sell-outs, but has chosen to respect the dignity of the funeral.

“Life is so unfair Ma because we see these people amongst us here today, we don’t know what to do because we don’t want to be accused of being insensitive and disrespecting your dignified funeral. We mention this incident just to make them aware that we know what they did to you. They must never think we’ve forgotten what they did to you. We see you in your beautiful suits betrayers, sell outs we see you.”
