Maimane to address Goodwood residents over land

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader, Mmusi Maimane is expected to address the public in Goodwood in Cape Town on Saturday morning.

Goodwood is the final stop for the national public hearings on the land question.

Last week, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the African National Congress (ANC) would move to amend Section 25 of the Constitution to allow for the expropriation of land without compensation.

The DA says the announcement was reckless and irresponsible.

Maimane’s spokesperson, Portia Adams says, “The DA has always said that we will not support the policy of the ANC and the EFF together. We’ve always maintained that we stand for land reform and that it should be done in a sensible way and that is what the leader will be reiterating. We will not support the policy by the ANC and the EFF.”
