Democratic Alliance (DA) Leader Mmusi Maimane takes his party’s election theme – Kasi-to-Kasi to Manyatseng – Ladybrand east of Bloemfontein and Maputsoe border post near Ficksburg in the eastern Free State.

He will be conducting an oversight visit to the border post and engage with the residents of Ladybrand. This is in line with his party’s election campaign as he will be sharing the DA’s Agenda for Change across the province.

Maimane will be joined by DA Free State leader and premier candidate Patricia Kopane.

Meanwhile, a suspended DA member, Ntombenhle Rulumeni has vowed to keep on fighting for her rights in order restore her dignity in the party. Rulumeni has taken the party to the East London Magistrate’s court and also reported it to the Human Rights Commission allegedly for interviewing her in a toilet.

She claims she applied to be a DA ward candidate and the interview was conducted in a toilet. She says the court has postponed the case to second and third of July.

Ruluneli also says the Human Rights Commission has already inspected the venue where she claims the interview was conducted.

“On the matter, they found out there were four toilets on the venue where I was being interviewed. They found out there was violation of my human rights. The court will also do site inspection, and take judgement,” says Ruleni.
