African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Ace Magashule has refuted allegations that he tampered with the ANC’s election list. State Security Minister Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba made the allegation.

Speaking to the SABC on the sidelines of the Mayihlome Rally at the Moses Mabhida People’s Park in Durban, Magashule said there is no way an individual could change the list of candidates for both Parliament and provincial legislatures.

Magashule says he hopes to address the allegation in a press conference soon.

“I want to have a big press conference to come and explain the list because there’s no way the SG, as an individual, can actually change the list and people who saw us when we were busy with IEC, because we have to check what we have sent; what the IEC has captured; and the list we had. I can tell you that the list has gone through a thorough process. So, I can assure you that that list has gone through the NEC, the National Extended Working Committee. The Secretary General, as an individual, has no power to change any list,” says Magushule.
