Maduka calls for consistency at Celtic ahead of Wits match

Reading Time: < 1 minute

On form Bloemfontein Celtic coach John Maduka says they need to remain consistent to remain at the top half of the log.

Celtic takes on Bidvest Wits in a league match at Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday night. Celtic started the New Year bagging seven points from a possible nine. They are currently ranked 5th on the log standings while Wits are one place above on 4th with three points difference between the sides.

The two teams’ last encounter was back in March last year when the Clever Boys beat Celtic 4-2 in Johannesburg.

Celtic is one of the top five teams with goals scored this season, having scored 27 goals while Mamelodi Sundowns is first with 36 goals.

The Free State outfit has conceded 22 goals and Maduka says they need to pay special attention to their defence.

Maduka says, because of the short transfer window period and many players still contracted to their clubs, Celtic has not gone into the market. – Report by Tshenolo Meruti
