Head researcher at Milpark Business School, Dr Sam Koma, says the issue of Deputy President David Mabuza might have been motivated by political interest.

This follows the postponement of his swearing-in.

Speaking on Morning Live, Koma says so far Mabuza has not been convicted by any court of law and his name is not implicated in any of the commissions set by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

“It might be that Mabuza wants to unify his fractured province and you can see the province is experiencing the tension.”

Koma says, however, the investors are looking for political stability in the country.

The new 90 members of National Council of Provinces (NCOP) will sit for the first time on Thursday.

Four hundred members of Parliament were sworn-in by the Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng on Wednesday.

The country is now waiting for President Cyril Ramaphosa to appoint his Cabinet.
