Load shedding impacts on court proceedings in KZN

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Load shedding nationwide is continuing to impact negatively on the daily lives of ordinary South Africans, including people in court.

Eskom is continuing with Stage 2 load shedding on Wednesday.

In Durban, cases that were set to resume at the High Court have been delayed.

One of the top cases being heard on Wednesday is that of 23-year-old Thabani Mzolo, who is accused of killing his former girlfriend Zolile Khumalo.

Khumalo was shot and killed inside her room at the Mangosuthu Buthelezi University of Technology student residence in 2018.

Mzolo, the first witness for the defence, has told the court that the gun belonged to Khumalo and she got shot while he was trying to disarm her.

If the case continues Wednesday after load shedding , the state could conclude cross examining Mzolo.
