A 37-year-old man is appearing in the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo after he was allegedly found in possession of eight suspected stolen trucks estimated to be worth R24 million.
He was arrested at Ha-Mashau outside Louis Trichardt at the weekend.
Police investigations led them to the village where the trucks were parked and an arrest was eventually made.
The vehicles include five tippers and three water tankers.
Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says they suspect that the trucks were en route to be smuggled out of the country.
Criminals are using the Limpopo River outside Musina to smuggle vehicles into Zimbabwe.
