Limpopo will release the provincial crime statistics in the Lebowakgomo Legislative Chambers. Police Minister Bheki Cele released the national statistics earlier this month.

Provincial Commissioner Nneke Ledwaba will announce the provincial stats Thursday afternoon.

For the period 2016 and 2017, the murder rate for Limpopo was the lowest in the country, coming in at 14.2%.

Murder hotspots for the province included areas in Mopani district, like Tzaneen. Other hotspots included Seshego and Westernburg in Polokwane.

Parts of the province, which contributed to high cases of malicious damage to property and arson include some parts of Vhembe.

The previous statistics also reflected a 10% increase in cash-in-transit heists and robbery cases.
