Lesotho opposition Alliance of Democrats Youth Leader, Thuso Litjobo has been charged with murder for the fatal shooting of a fellow party member.
Litjobo and his bodyguard allegedly shot Thabiso Moqolo in a feud over election candidacy two weeks ago.
He was arrested and released, from custody after appearing in the Maseru Magistrates Court.
The Alliance of Democrats is barely four months old, but it has become the first party in Lesotho to have a primary candidate implicated in a political killing.
Party leader Monyane Moleleki has condemned the incident.
Both the suspects allege that they were man-handled while in custody attracting local and international human rights observer condemnation.
They will go back to court in May.
