A tribute concert for legendary musician Steve Fataar will be held at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Howard College in Durban on Sunday.
Fataar and his brother were members of the group, The Flames in the 1960s.
The 76-year-old passed away in Durban last week.
Fataar’s friend Danny Chetty says the concert was organised by Fatar’s family and friends to celebrate his life.
“He was a very spiritual person at heart. As a rock musician, he was very interested in working for peace in areas and being a peaceful person to everyone. That’s the Steve Fataar I know, who started the ban called The Flames in the early 60s. The tribute concert today is a way in which we can come together to celebrate the late Steve Fataar and it’s going to involve various musicians who played with Steve in his days and who walked a long journey with him. It’s free there are no charges.”
