Land grabs in the Gauteng Province have continued over the weekend. This as another group of invaders occupied a piece of land in Midrand north of Johannesburg.
The group is part of an organisation that calls itself “The Landless Peoples Power.”
They invaded a vacant piece of land said to belong to private owners, erecting structures in the early hours of the morning.
They insist that the section they have occupied does not have an owner and say they have documents to prove it.
The group, which says it represents over 1000 occupiers, is adamant to continue building structures on the land.
The incident comes just weeks after another land invasion in Olivenhoutbosch in Centurion in Pretoria.
