SABC News anchor Peter Ndoro has announced that he will be returning to work on Monday. Ndoro had taken a short break from work after he mistakenly said that President Cyril Ramaphosa was dead. He meant to say, Morgan Tshangarai. A few weeks earlier he had made a similar mistake saying that Mangosuthu Buthelezi was dead. He was speaking about the death of former Bophuthatswana leader Lucas Manyane Mangope.
Ndoro announced on Twitter that he will be returning to work on Monday and he also thanked the President for forgiving him.
Thank you to everyone who sent me warm messages of encouragement & support. I’m truly humbled. Special thanks to President @CyrilRamaphosa graciously accepting my apology understanding it was a genuine human moment. Thank you ??. I look forward to work at #sabcnews on Monday pic.twitter.com/qMFrkRwDjW
