Dalai Lama delivers spiritual teaching in eastern India

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, imparted spiritual lessons on the four noble truths of suffering, cause of suffering, cessation and the way out in India’s holy town of Bodh Gaya on Saturday.

Thousands of devotees, monks and visitors from faraway places gathered to attend Dalai Lama’s spiritual lessons. A visitor from Italy, William, said that this is an amazing experience and Dalai Lama teaching is very nice.

Chief of India’s eastern state of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, will also participate on the concluding day of the religious session on January 07.

After the 1959 abortive Tibetan uprising against the Chinese rule, the Dalai Lama fled into exile in India and since then has been living as a refugee.

He has since lived mostly in the hill town of Dharamsala in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh, where his supporters run a small government in exile and advocate Tibet’s autonomy by peaceful means. He was conferred with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
