Twenty nine rhino have been poached in KwaZulu-Natal since January.

Seven rhino were killed by poachers in the province’s Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park in the north of the province.

Carcasses were already decomposed when they were found last week.

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife communications manager Musa Mntambo has called on communities to work closely with them to curb the scourge of rhino poaching.

“As Ezemvelo we will continue taking our fight to the Rhino poachers, relying mainly on the communities and also other stakeholders who are willing to participate in this fight against rhino poaching, we will always be increasing our field angers who are patrolling and also introducing the technology to fight rhino poaching.”
