The South African Weather Services says KwaZulu-Natal residents and holiday makers should brace themselves for a rainy Christmas long weekend.
Weather forester Thandiwe Gumede says the inclement weather is expected to clear midweek.
She says there is a 30% chance of showers and thunder showers for Saturday and Sunday.
No warnings have been issued for Saturday and Sunday.
Going on towards Christmas Day she says: “We are expecting very strong winds expected to reach gale force strength of around 80km/hour if not more. For areas especially along the coast of KwaZulu Natal those rains are expected to persist for most of the day. In terms of rainfall for Christmas Day 60% chance of showers and thunder showers are expected.”
