Reading Time: < 1 minute

A 66-year-old farmer is expected to appear in court in New Hanover in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands on a murder charge.

The charge arises from an incident at Njabulo Lembethe’s funeral which took place on the accused’s farm over the weekend.

It’s alleged that the farmer threatened funeral goers, fired shots and killed one man, Mothi Ngubane, aged 42.

He was later arrested in possession of firearms and a toy gun.

The community has started gathering to picket outside the court.
