Reading Time: < 1 minute

The case of two Northern Cape teachers embroiled in a sex scandal at Bothithong High School has been transferred to the Kuruman Regional Court.

Qhubekani Zulu and Charles Khumalo briefly appeared at the Mothibistad Magistrate Court on Friday. They’ve been charged with sexual assault after allegedly having sexual relations with pupils.

Zulu and Khumalo were released on bail of R500 each in September.

They were suspended by the provincial Department of Education in August.

Defence lawyer Katlego Moribe says the case has been postponed to January for further investigation. The teachers whose contracts were meant to expire end of this year have also been extended until their disciplinary hearing is finalised.
