Kuruman learner to be sentenced on Monday

A 15-year-old boy who was found guilty of stabbing his teacher to death in Manyeding village near Kuruman in 2018 is expected to be sentenced on Monday.

The boy was found guilty of murder, assault, malicious damage to property and theft in April this year.

The Bosele Middle school learner was found to have fatally stabbed his teacher after a confrontation at the teacher’s home in Manyeding village near Kuruman.

In the early hours of 13 January 2018, the learner went to the Zimbabwean national Kingston Vhiya’s home and broke his windows.

When confronted, the boy stabbed the teacher and accused Vhiya of failing him. The learner is expected to be sentenced in the Kathu Magistrate’s court on Monday.
