Springbok Captain Siya Kolisi and lifestyle brand Freedom of Movement are collaborating on a project that could change the lives of children across the country.

Freedom of Movement have launched a limited edition ‘Veldskoen’ named FOM x Kolisi, and each pair sold will contribute towards the leveling and grassing of a rugby field at the Mbekweni Youth Centre in Paarl.

This is the first of many such initiatives they hope to do across South Africa.

Lean Boezaart, who co-founded FOM with his brother Roan, says they are excited about the campaign.

Kolisi explains how it came about that they started with this project in Mbekweni.

Kolisi says talking to the kids in Mbekweni reminded him of how he grew up and the lack of facilities.

The Port Elizabeth-born rugby star says he can remember how small things made a big difference in his life growing up, and he hopes the impact of a quality field can change the Mbekweni kids’ lives.
