Stormers captain Siya Kolisi will become the first black player to captain the Springboks when he leads the team in the first of three test matches against England at Ellis Park on June 9.
Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus confirmed Kolisi’s appointment on Monday morning.
Born in Zwide township near Port Elizabeth, Kolisi is also the DHL Stormers captain and has played in 28 Tests since making his debut at age 22 against Scotland in Nelspruit on 15 June 2013. He has four Test tries to his name. pic.twitter.com/I0bHXkHQSj

Kolisi has to date played 28 test matches for his country.
Erasmus says Kolisi is a hard working individual who enjoys the respect of his fellow players.
His provincial team mate, Pieter-Steph du Toit will captain the Springboks in next weekend’s once-off and historic test match against Wales in Washington.
The lock will also captain the Springboks for the first time.
