Koko to face grilling at Eskom inquiry

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former Eskom Acting Chief Executive Officer Matshela Koko will appear before the Eskom parliamentary inquiry into State Capture on Wednesday morning.

Koko’s appearance comes after the utility’s former Chief Financial Officer Anoj Singh gave evidence on Tuesday and into the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Singh told the inquiry that Koko is best placed to answer some of the questions on the Gupta linked Tegeta-Optimum coal mine controversy.

However, evidence leader Nthuthuzelo Vanara told Singh that he should still answer as he had associated himself with the submission made to the inquiry.

Glencore-owned Optimum Coal Mine was placed under business rescue and later sold to Gupta linked Company Tegeta.
