Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that the country’s No. 1 goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune will be out of action for at least six months after a successful shoulder operation.

This means Khune will also miss South Africa’s crucial and final African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Libya in March. It also throws into doubt his chances of representing Bafana Bafana at the 2019’s African Cup of Nations tournament should they qualify.

Chiefs take on ABSA Premiership log leaders, Bidvest Wits, in Johannesburg on Wednesday evening.
