Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is on the road to recovery after suffering a shoulder injury that has kept him out of action for almost nine months.
Khune, for long Bafana Bafana’s No. 1 keeper, is itching to play again, but he says he will be patient.
“This is the frustrating time of my career and having to be out for over eight months… I mean, I’ve been watching my teammates training every day. I’ve been watching my teammates play and compete, and it was heart breaking that I wanted to be on the field and help my teammates while they were struggling in some of the games – but only God knows how I got injured, and how long it took me to get back. But, finally those dark days are behind me and I’m happy that I’m back and I’m competing for the No. 1 spot.”
