It is all systems go for South Africa’s most anticipated wedding that was sparked by a marriage proposal at a KFC branch in Gauteng.
The wedding will take place today and will only be attended by family and close friends.
The couple, Hector Mkansi and Nonhlanhla Soldaat, became an internet sensation last month when a video of the proposal went viral on social media, attracting donations from South African individuals and companies.
The pair have thanked South Africans for their generosity and support.
“We continue to show gratitude, even now we say thank you South Africa for giving us an opportunity to have the wedding of our dreams. Without you, we wouldn’t have been this far Mzansi, we thank you,” says the couple.
However, some social media users have expressed their disappointment after it was announced that the wedding will only be attended by family and close friends.
Car manufactures including Land Rover, Audi and Lexus will transport the couple on their special day.
