Kenyatta attends mourning prayers of dam burst victims

Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have attended mourning prayers of 47 victims of last week’s dam burst in the country. Kenyatta said the government will continue to support flooding victims across the country.

The rain has pounded East Africa for over a month, killing at least 158 people in Kenya and displacing thousands.  At least two villages were swept away during the dam burst.

The dam was privately owned by a commercial farm in Kenya’s Rift Valley. The floods in the East African region follow a prolonged drought in the region. Click below for more on the story :
