The prosecution in the murder trial of Sandile Mantsoe, who’s accused of killing his girlfriend Karabo Mokoena, will no longer be showing the video of the CCTV footage taken outside the accused’s Johannesburg home.

Mokoena’s burnt body was discovered in an open veld in Lyndhurst in north-eastern Johannesburg in April 2017.

The case has been postponed to Wednesday in the High court in Johannesburg.

During Sandile Mantsoe’s previous court appearance, they had wanted to show the court video footage from Matsoe’s Sandton apartment, taken the day Mokoena was allegedly killed.

Even though those who retrieved the footage were present in court, there was no one to testify on the chain of events.

The prosecutor told the court they will no longer show the video footage but instead present still photographs.

After flipping through the album, they asked for another postponement to allow them time to call more witnesses.

The State has also told the court that they hope to finalise their case on Wednesday.
