The veteran actor and special ambassador to the Market Theatre Foundation, Dr John Kani, says he will approach the Chief Justice to plead for the speedy finalisation of cases involving the abuse of women.
He says at times the cases drag on for too long while all the evidence is there.
Dr Kani had dialogue with men at the Market Theatre on gender-based violence.
“I want to appeal to Mogoeng Mogoeng our Chief Justice to set up emergency courts and hearings for these cases so that within three months it is reconciled and the guilty person is punished immediately. Then the offender will know that there is a greater likelihood of perpetrators being arrested.”
