Reading Time: < 1 minute

Eleven Kaizer Chiefs fans will appear in Durban Regional Court on Thursday in relation to the Moses Mabhida stadium vandalism. The incident took place in April during the Nedbank cup competition.

It is alleged that the team’s fans did not take kindly to a 2-0 defeat by the Free State Stars.

Violent and chaotic scenes were seen at the stadium after fans stormed the pitch, damaging broadcasting equipment, assaulting security guards and burning some seats at the stadium.

The suspects are expected to appear in court for pre-trial conference.
