Road Traffic Management Cooperation Chief Executive Officer Advocate Makhosini Msibi says traffic officers are ready to make sure that the road fatalities are reduced this festive season.
Msibi was speaking on the N1 near Bela Bela in Limpopo where Transport Minister Joe Maswanganyi was launching the road safety campaign.
He says traffic officers are determined to ensure that there is a smooth flow of transport these holidays.
“But we can assure you, if motorists behave, road users and pedestrians, we are going to have the lowest figures this year. As we say, road safety is everybody’s responsibility, but on our roads we are going to make sure that we arrest people who are driving under the influence. We will deal with each and every lawlessness on our roads.”
