The High Court in Pretoria is expected to deliver judgement in Dros Rape case on Monday. Nicholas Ninow has pleaded guilty to raping the then 7-year-old girl in the toilet cubicle at a Dros Restaurant in Pretoria in September last year.

Ninow has also admitted to being in possession of drugs on the day and defeating the ends of justice. He has however pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault.

In its closing arguments, the state appealed to the court to conclude that Ninow had every intention of raping the young girl.

The NPA believes it has provided enough evidence to convince the court to find Ninow guilty.

In his plea explanation, 20 year old Ninow told the court that he was in the toilet to use drugs and that he acted impulsively when the little girl came into the toilet cubicle.

The State called a number of witnesses, including a child-minder on duty on the day, the child’s mother and the little girl herself who gave evidence on camera.
