A full round of ABSA Premiership matches will be played this weekend. Two matches will be played on Friday evening,  Maritzburg United will host AmaZulu in a KwaZulu-Natal derby at the Harry Gwala stadium in Pietermaritzburg, while Stellenbosch FC, fresh from walloping Highlands Park 4-1, will be at home against Baroka FC. However, all eyes will be on the teams in the title race.

Log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs, who will travel to Black Leopards on Saturday afternoon, will be aiming to increase the gap between themselves and the chasing pack on the standings. Their coach, Ersnt Middendorp, says they have been monitoring Black Leopards’ performance.

Chiefs will go into that match with some sense of relief because they enjoy a nine-point lead over defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns. The Brazilians lost 1-0 to Orlando Pirates on Wednesday evening, denting their title aspirations.
