It’s redemption week – Hlako

Reading Time: 2 minutes

First Touch Academy head coach John Hlako will be on the bench in his side’s second match of the South African Football Association National Women’s League (SNWL) this weekend.

Hlako was absent in the opening match due to work commitments and he believes the Limpopo side will start competing.

First Touch face Mpumalanga’s Coal City Wizards in the opening match of the day on Saturday morning (kick-off at 10:00) at UJ Sports Complex. Hlako is confident of a positive result.

This match will be followed by TUT Ladies vs Thunderbirds Ladies at 12:30 with the last fixture between Durban Ladies and Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies scheduled for 15:00 at the same venue.

Hlako’s side sit ninth on the log with no point following their loss to TUT in the first match while City are fourth with three points after surprising Durban Ladies in their opener.

The Academy coach reveals his side is not at full strength and he hopes to register some stronger players before the clash.

The coach is also pleased with the change of venue for this weekend’s matches saying teams struggled with the artificial grass at the Soweto Nike Centre last month. – Report by Lethabo Kganyago
