Interpol roped in to track Gupta brothers

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Sources close to the Gupta investigation say Interpol has been roped in to track down Atul and Tony Gupta.

Ajay Gupta has been declared a fugitive from justice. This after he failed to hand himself over despite his lawyers confirming to the Hawks that he will do so.

He has since disappeared.

The Hawks are still unable to serve warrants of arrest to Tony and Atul Gupta. The two Gupta brothers were out of the country when the warrants were issued.

Reports are that they are in Dubai or India.

But Police Minister Fikile Mbalula would not be drawn about their whereabouts.

Ajay Gupta has since communicated to the Hawks through his lawyers.

And now more reports are emerging that a warrant has been issued for Duduzane Zuma’s arrest over alleged corruption.

He is believed to be still in South Africa, but his whereabouts are unknown.

Meanwhile, Mbalula discourages and distances government from all rewards offered by private citizens.

Several rewards were offered for Atul, Ajay, Tony Gupta and Zuma.

Forensic consultant Paul O’Sullivan’s organisation, Forensics for Justice, said it was offering a R100 000 reward.

He put out an additional R100 000 bonus if all four were arrested.

On social media several people offered more money taking the total reward up to more than R1 million.

Minister Mbalula says the hunt is still on.
