This Father’s Day South Africans should remember that male parenting and the example men set for their children plays a significant role in the upbringing of a productive and constructive society.

That is according to Javu Baloyi from the Commission for Gender Equality. He says the impact of fathers must not be underestimated.

“The commission for gender equality wishes all the fathers a Happy Father’s Day and also including in that line those that are playing a father figure role to the kids, step kids and etc. We want to call upon fathers to be responsible, to be there for their partners, to be there for their kids, and to be cognisant that they must free their partners to do what they want, as often time women are regarded as housewives and fathers must share the same responsibility.”
