Head of advocacy at Public Service Accountability Monitor and the lead co-ordinator for Imali Yethu, Zukiswa Kota, says the idea of the Imali Yethu initiative being launched around the budget speech is to put the focus around the project with the ideas that it is still yet to grow.
This comes after the finance minister Malusi Gigaba launched the Imali Yethu on Tuesday which is a coalition of civil society organisations working with Treasury to make budget information more accessible and user friendly.
“We’ve got two and a half years to go in this project and as the project grows we are hoping to get more input from the public to make this portal/online data more accessible and more meaningful.”
