The Department of Home Affairs is extending working hours from today until election day on Wednesday.
This is to enable citizens to collect their identity documents (IDs) to vote.
Offices will be open from 07:00 to 17:00 today and tomorrow and will operate from 07:00 – 21:00 on Wednesday.
Last week, Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan said over 300 000 IDs are still uncollected at various Home Affairs offices nationwide.
The Department has also appealed to citizens to collect their smart ID cards or green ID books or to apply for Temporary Identity Certificates so that they may exercise their democratic right to vote.
