United Democratic Movement (UDM) leader Bantu Holomisa says he wants voters to punish the African National Congress (ANC) at the polls for not implementing the findings of commissions of inquiry, especially the ones tasked with unearthing corruption in government.

Holomisa spoke to the SABC in Marikana, near Rustenburg in the North West, after conducting an election campaign.

He has referred to the Commissions of Inquiry into State Capture and impropriety at the Public Investment Corporation saying the ANC will protect its cronies even when the recommendations are that they should be charged.

On the Marikana Commission of Inquiry, Holomisa says it’s evident that the ANC-led government has no intention of bringing to book those who are implicated in the massacre.

“There is no doubt that there is no political will on the part of the ruling party to deal with the perpetrators of this corruption. You see, some of them are still in the cabinet. So, the so-called new dawn is turning out to be nothing else but a joke, because there is no political will on the part of the ruling party to arrest perpetrators. After all, we are not surprised given that corruption in this country is institutionalised,” says Holomisa.
