The Life Esidimeni hearings are continuing in Parktown, Johannesburg following the death of 143 patients who died after being transferred from Life Esidimeni facilities to unlicensed and ill-equipped NGOs.
Health Ombudsman Professor Malegapuru Makgoba has welcomed the independent ad hoc tribunal’s dismissal of Dr Barney Selebano’s appeal.
The tribunal is headed by retired the Judge President of the Gauteng High Court Bernard Ngoepe. Selebano had appealed against the findings and recommendations of the Health Ombuds report into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of mentally-ill patients.
