The Sentencing procedures are expected to get underway in the Cape Town High Court on Tuesday in the trial of convicted murderer Henri van Breda.

He has been found guilty of the murder of his father, mother and older brother at the De Zalze Estate in Stellenbosch in May 2015.

Van Breda’s also been found guilty of the attempted murder of his teenage sister Marli and defeating the ends of justice.

Judge Siraj Desai found that there was no evidence that an axe wielding intruder entered the home three years ago and butchered his family to death.

The 23-year-old has spent the past two weeks at the hospital section of Pollsmoor Prison where he’s said to be receiving medication for epileptic seizures and depression. He’s R100 000 bail was revoked following his conviction.
