A 53-year-old Warrant Officer attached to the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit has been arrested.

Petrus Nkosi who has already appeared in court is accused of conspiracy to commit a cash-in-transit heist, armed robbery, money laundering, defeating the ends of justice and unauthorised use of a state vehicle.

Nkosi appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate`s Court on Monday 14 May 2018 and he was granted R8 000 bail and the case was postponed to May 16 pending further investigation.

Nkosi allegedly conspired with a cash in transit heist syndicate in 2015.

This reportedly resulted in a bank robbery and a cash in transit heist in Hazyview.

Hawks spokesperson Dineo Sekgotodi says: “Investigations linked Nkosi to the syndicates through money market transactions where his relative allegedly withdrew money on his behalf.”
