On the back of a strong 2019 Currie Cup finish,  the Toyota Cheetahs are targeting a strong start when they kick-off their 2019/2020 Guinness PRO 14 Campaign this weekend.

They host Scottish side Glasgow Warriors in Bloemfontein on Friday. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:05pm.

The Free State outfits were being crowned Currie Cup Champions for a sixth time earlier this month. Coach Franco Smith says expectations are high for them.

Smith will only remain with the Cheetahs for their first three games of the campaign from there on former Stellenbosch University coach Hawies Fourie will take over.

Fourie was announced as new coach of the Cheetahs in July this year. Smith highlights the importance of this game.

The Bloemfontein side will play their first three matches at home before touring Europe at the end of next month. Scrum-half Tian Meyer had this to say about playing their first game at home.
