‘Govt should also assist with jobs’

Issack Mogapi (23) of Boitumelong Township near Bloemhof town says his friends forced him to become a gangster as a way of protecting himself from other gangsters.  He has urged the North West government to assist with programmes that will enable them to safely dissociate with criminal elements in the area.

Mogapi joined a gang called DFM (Dog For Money) he says most of the times gangs were constantly fighting each other. Taxi owners within the location intervened but their efforts were fruitless.  Some of his friends got injured because there was no progress.

He has a dream that one day will be able to become a professional soccer player. Mogapi pleads that the government should provide football grounds to the community.  ‘They must ensure that there is football equipment so that we can have progress,’ says Mogapi.
